William Ragsdale, Roddy McDowall, Traci Lind, and Julie Carmen starred in Tommy Lee Wallace's 1988 American horror film Fright Night Part 2. It is the follow-up to the 1985 movie Fright Night, and Ragsdale and McDowall are back in them. Brad Fiedel, the composer, made a comeback with yet another distinctive synthesizer composition. It follows the storyline of the previous movie and centers on Charley Brewster, a college student who runs into a pack of vampires who are on the lookout for him.
The movie, which was released in 1989 by New Century/Vista in North America and TriStar Pictures elsewhere, made almost $3 million domestically and has since gained cult status like its predecessor. In 2003, Artisan Entertainment briefly released it on DVD in a full frame presentation, but the disc quickly ran out of stock and is now a coveted collector's item.
The third movie was supposed to come out in 1990, but studio concerns over the success of the franchise led to the movie's cancellation. The filmmaker of the first Fright Night, Tom Holland, said in October 2020 that he was creating a movie called Fright Night: Resurrection that would disregard the 1988 sequel and be a direct sequel to his first movie.
After receiving mental health treatment three years after the first movie, Charley Brewster, age 20, now thinks Jerry Dandrige was really a serial killer who pretended to be a vampire. As a result, he starts to think that vampires didn't actually exist.
To his dismay, college student Charley and his new lover Alex Young visit Peter Vincent, who is once more a burned-out vampire killer on Fright Night. Charley witnesses three huge containers being unloaded from a truck while at Peter's apartment. Charley notices four weird people walking by him into an elevator as he leaves Peter's flat. ( to be continue)..
